Jillian DePaul is a Licensed Psychologist based in Natick, Massachusetts. She has over a decade of experience in aiding patients with their particular needs and is proud of her work. Dr. DePaul’s goal has always been to make her patients feel seen and cared for.
Before she could begin helping her patients, Jillian DePaul first had to obtain an education. In 2000 she graduated from the University of Notre Dame: College of Arts and Letters with a Bachelor’s in English and Film Studies. Following that, she earned her Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of Notre Dame: Alliance for Catholic Education. Jillian went to Boston College: Lynch School of Education to get a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. She followed this up with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, which she also obtained through Boston College.
Jillian DePaul’s first significant role in the world of psychology was as an Item Writer for the Examination for Professional Practice of Psychology (EPPP). Items she wrote include “Assessments and Diagnosis” and “Biological Bases of Behavior.” During this time, Dr. DePaul landed a Clinical Instructor/Supervisor role with Harvard Medical School, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Psychology. Jillian was responsible for co-writing and editing inpatient and outpatient neuropsychological and psychological evaluation reports, among other tasks.
Currently, Jillian DePaul is a Licensed Psychologist working in Private Practice. Her specialty is Neuropsychological and Psychological Evaluations and Therapy. Her private practice is in Natick, MA, where she aids children, adolescents, and adults. Her services include neuropsychological evaluations, psychological evaluations, academic evaluations, and therapy.
It is essential to Jillian that her evaluations are as comprehensive as possible, ensuring that her patients get the best care. For this reason, Dr. DePaul’s evaluation format has always been more collaborative, encouraging patients to be involved in the process and their continued care. This has the added advantage of her patients feeling more heard while providing additional insight into their mental health concerns. The purpose of Jillian DePaul’s in-depth evaluations is to clarify diagnoses, shape school accommodations or intervention plans, and guide treatment. In other words, these evaluations are highly customizable, creating the more informative and helpful outcome possible. Following evaluations, treatment and medication plans can be formed, developed, or altered accordingly.
Jillian DePaul has found that parents often come to her in hopes of learning context for their children’s academic difficulties or difficulties with behavior. She has found that her evaluation format helps to provide a complete picture to these parents while setting a plan for success with the children. As for her adult patients, Dr. DePaul has found that an open and honest form of communication is most productive. Increasing self-awareness can cast prior challenges in a new light and help patients find new avenues for change.
When Jillian DePaul isn’t busy with work, she enjoys indulging in many hobbies. Jillian loves to read and enjoy films. For exercise, she is especially fond of running. These are a few of the ways Jillian relaxes after a long and stressful week.
